With the appointment of Professor Lee, a cell biology laboratory was established in the Department of Biology at Gangneung National University. Currently affiliated with Gangneung-Wonju National University, the lab has published papers in various fields such as neural development, muscle cell differentiation, bone cell differentiation, bone remodeling, cancer, and inflammation. Currently, the lab is conducting follow-up research related to the inhibitory effects of Nordihydroguaiaretic acid (NDGA) on TGF-beta. The lab has previously revealed that many plant extracts contain TGF-beta inhibitory activities and anti-inflammatory activities that inhibit TAK1, and is currently conducting research on identifying effective compounds and ways to utilize them.

The lab is currently working on projects related to "Research on TAK1 activity control substances derived from plants." and "The influence of natural products on animal development, immunity, and cancer development." Here, we will introduce the achievements of our lab along with relevant papers in these fields.
